Hello! My name is Álvaro. I am a professional freelance linguist, MA-qualified, with many years of experience in English and Dutch to Spanish translation.
I was born and raised in Málaga, in the South of Spain.
I moved to the Flemish part of Belgium after graduating in Barcelona, and I lived there for almost 10 years. There, I was able to learn Dutch at a high level. In the meantime, I also traveled to English-speaking countries (among many others, I‘ve been to +85 so far!) for long periods of time to improve, among other things, my language skills, including 6 months in Canada & 6 months in New Zealand.
Thanks to all these experiences, I gained in-depth linguistic and cultural knowledge to be able to deliver accurate translations of the highest quality. I’m also a perfectionist, professional and ambitious person with an eye for detail.
My main areas of expertise are Travel & Tourism, Marketing, Website, App, and Game Localization, Cryptocurrencies & Blockchain and Casinos, among others.
To mention some of my experience: I have been collaborating with big brands like Booking.com, one of the biggest hotel chains and one of the five Big Tech companies in the world. I also translate on a daily basis for a huge Casino company like Mostbet and I localized and did the project management of the game Monobot. I also collaborate with different agencies such as Tolq, Architekst, TransCreat, Ultimate Languages, Perfect, Smartling, and some others.
